Why the coloring? You will notice all puppies have a color added to their tail and feet. This is done harmlessly with a marker so they can be identified for recording information on that particular puppy. Some breeders use collars, colored yarn etc. I prefer the coloring to avoid any problems that could happen with a tiny pup wearing a collar. The feet (usually rear feet, sometimes all four) are colored the same color as the moms collar. So one litter will all have blue feet to match the moms blue collar. Their tail is their individual color. Each puppy is weighed twice daily to ensure proper growth and development. Problems are quickly identified even with the slightest weight loss or excessive gain. When you see a puppy available it will be easy for you to tell me which one you are interested in since all Maltese are white.
